A home once owned by possibly the world’s biggest rockstar is up for sale in London.
The eyewatering £5.5million London flat once belonged to none other than Rolling Stones legend Sir Mick Jagger.
The whopping 2,495 sq ft property, which boasts four spacious bedrooms and three bathrooms, is located on the fourth floor of Harley House, in Marylebone. The building is described as ‘one of the grandest residential innovations of the Edwardian era’.
But any deep-pocketed house hunter wouldn’t just be buying a home, but a piece of pop culture history.

Mick moved into the flat in 1966 with his then girlfriend Chrissie Shrimpton, with whom he had a rocky relationship, and their menagerie of pets: a dog, six cats and three songbirds.
The flat would have been the scene of many a hedonistic party – likely centred in a room that was dubbed the ‘hippy lounge’ – with Mick known to have let lose with his bandmates, including Keith Richards, and none-other-than HRH Princess Margaret.

It was also during his time living here, that the Stones released songs including ‘Paint it Black’ and ‘Ruby Tuesday’.
After breaking up with Chrissie, and mercilessly dumping her belongings in the foyer of Harley House, his new girlfriend, Marianne Faithfull, moved in.

The building is described as ‘just moments’ away from the shops and restaurants of Marylebone High Street and near Regent’s Park, with easy access to Baker Street Underground Station.

But it was apparently its proximity to the medical facilities on Harley Streetthat was particularly significant for Mick. Rumour has it, that after partying hard, he’d occasionally require the services of the physicians round the corner.
While the fifth-floor flat has certainly had an upgrade since Jagger’s time, it ‘combines traditional character with sleek, modern finishes’ according to its Prime London listing, and is on sale now via agent Beauchamp Estates.

It’s also the first time the flat has been available to buy in 30 years.
Mick moved out of Harley House in January 1968 and moved into a property in Chester Square, in Belgravia.
For the past three decades, the place has been owned by a Japanese businessman, but now, he’s retiring and moving back home, so the flat is up for grabs once more.

For the hefty price tag, you’ll be a cool £23,706.90 per square metre. That works out at 2,495 sq ft, priced at £2,204.40 per square foot.
Still, this immortal piece of rock history could be yours if you have the cash.
‘Give me shelter’, indeed.
