First it was the addictive Tim Tam that made its way from Australia to UK shelves. And now the land down under has blessed us with another sweet treat rarely available in British stores.

Raspberry Smash Mars bars have recently been spotted in B&M for the first time since 2022, with fans going absolutely crazy for the fruity twist on the icon.

Filled with raspberry flavoured nougat, the flavour – which also comes in a protein bar format – has been described as ‘absolute heaven’ and ‘pure indulgence’ by Amazon reviewers.

One shopper posted in the Food Finds UK Facebook group with a picture of the chocolate bar, alerting fellow users: ‘Raspberry Smash flavour Mars in B&M. £1.’

This is only 5p more expensive than a standard Mars bar from Tesco or Sainsbury’s – and if the response is anything to go by, it’s worth the extra to get your hands on one.

‘Can’t wait to try this,’ replied Dillon Michael Hancock, while Andrew James said the variety is ‘better’ than the original.

YouTuber Steve Eats thought the flavour was a smash too, saying it left him ‘speechless’.

‘That is the best chocolate bar I’ve had in a long time – possibly up there in my top 5 chocolate bars ever,’ he said in a review.

‘Well done Mars Australia, why can’t we have things like this? Why don’t we get things like this, here in the UK? You go to these shops where they’ve imported bars of chocolate from other countries, but here we get just the basics.’

Not everyone was impressed though, with some branding Raspberry Smash bars ‘sickly’ and ‘disappointing’.

‘They are okay but to be honest at a pound I’d say save your money,’ saidSamantha Stevenson on Facebook, while Dean Platt added: ‘Disgusting, I am sorry it isn’t Mars if you go messing about with poxy raspberry flavour!’

The Raspberry Smash Mars Bar isn’t the only chocolate bar to have made it’s way from distant shores to UK supermarkets.

The Perky Nana is a Kiwi classic, made by Cadbury, which features a banana ‘chew’ centre coated in chocolate and priced at £1 each.

A post in Facebook group Dansway Gifts and Bargains UK showed the bar in B&M with the caption ‘they’re back’.

But it proved controversial, with commenters calling it ‘rank’, ‘weird’ and ‘sicky’.

Hopefully the Raspberry Smash fares better with British tastebuds.
