With its exclusive discounts and personalised offers, Morrisons is known for its beloved loyalty card points system.

There have been a few changes since the first Match & More card (as it was then known) was introduced back in 2014, and the supermarket is set to make another one.

Morrisons shoppers with a More card will now have the option of donating their loyalty points to Marie Curie, the UK’s leading end-of-life charity.

Both customers and Morrisons staff expressed interest in using their points for a charitable cause, and they’ll be able to donate as many pennies or pounds as they wish.

The new system will be flexible, as each cardholder will have the option to switch back to using their points to spend in-store instead if they need to.

How does the new Morrisons More card system work?

Morrisons More members will now be able to donate their points to Marie Curie in multiples of 1,000 (equal to £1 in value) – and this can be done either through the More Card app or on the More website.

The points will then be converted into money and donated directly to Marie Curie, which, for the last five months, has been Morrisons’ national charity partner.

Tesco shoppers in utter disbelief after discovering ‘game-changing’ new meal deal product

Tesco has just added a brand-new item to its lunchtime meal deal lineup – and it’s rather decadent.

Alongside your choice between a classic sandwich, pasta pot or a salad for the main, shoppers can now opt for a famous sweet treat that’s been hailed as ‘game changing.’

Tesco has confirmed that a single Glazed Original Krispy Kreme now technically counts as a ‘snack’ item as part of both the regular and premium meal deals, which cost £4 (£3.60 with a Clubcard) and £5.50 (or £5), respectively.

And it’s a bargain too, as outside of the meal deal offer, just one of the doughnuts costs £1.99. Work smarter, not harder, as they say.

Over the course of three years, Morrisons and Marie Curie are aiming to raise £15,000,000 together, of which £1,000,000 has already been achieved, with the funds directly ensuring local communities have greater access to nurses and expert care at the end-of-life mark.

How many points can you get with the Morrisons More card?

The points system will largely remain the same – as customers will still be able to earn five points for each product purchased both in-store and online, as well as through Deliveroo and Amazon.

Once the points value reaches 5,000, this Morrisons ‘Fiver’ can be used in a future shop – or now, donated to charity.

‘We are delighted to see this next step in our partnership with Marie Curie which builds on £1,000,000 already raised thanks to our incredible colleagues and customers,’ said David Scott, corporate affairs director at Morrisons.

‘Today’s news marks a meaningful evolution in the Morrisons More Card loyalty programme and follows feedback from customers who want their everyday shopping to make a difference to a great charity.

‘Whether our customers choose to spend their points or donate them, every transaction now has the potential to support families facing terminal illness.’

Tesco Clubcard holders urged to act following major app changes

Morrisons isn’t the only supermarket that’s switched up its loyalty card system in recent months.

While some still use a physical Tesco Clubcard to pay for their shopping, the majority rely on the mobile app to collect points and access discounts.

However, since March 31, older versions of the app have ceased working completely, meaning customers must update to the latest version to continue using their loyalty card.

In a message to customers, Tesco explained: ‘To increase your data protection and online security, we’re updating our Tesco app to a newer version.

‘To keep shopping and enjoying all of your Clubcard benefits on your app, make sure you have the latest version.‘
